The Edale Skyline (well half of one anyway)

On Sunday I was supposed to be running the Edale Skyline fell race in the Peak District but unfortunately, due to an extreme shortage of Harry care minders (care minder #1 having been decamped in Australia all year and care minder #2 having just gone off to uni), I was on Harry duty instead. Hester though was running the Edale Skyline as was Gavin so, while they were busy doing that, me and Harry did a half Edale Skyline anti-clockwise all the way to Hollins Cross, arriving there in the nick of time to see Hester and Gav come through. The race itself is an absolute humdinger, effectively following the extended bowl like ridgeline of Edale all the way round for about 21 miles and approximately 3,800 feet of climb. The weather was fantastic too with Hes running a blinder coming in to finish 135th (and 23rd lady), a few seconds over the 4 hour mark and just a couple of places behind Gav. Me and Harry had a lovely 12 mile run too.
